About Feather My Head
It all started with my daughter
In 2007, my daughter wanted feathers in her hair. As a cosmetologist, I was happy to help—and that simple request sparked the idea for Feather My Head.
My very first logo featured a picture of her wearing those feathers, a reminder of where it all began.

I began by setting up a dedicated room in my home where customers could come to have feathers installed. From there, I started doing events. As interest grew, I decided to sell the feathers so customers and stylists could create their own looks, too.
That idea became a way to combine my experience in hair with my love of color and creativity.
From 100 feathers to a world of color
I started with just 100 feathers. Over the years, that collection has grown into an extensive inventory serving customers, stylists, and salons around the world.
Finding the right suppliers and learning what makes a beautiful hair feather took time and experience. I also learned to dye the feathers myself, through experimentation, practice, and a few mistakes along the way.
Today, we hand-dye our feathers ourselves here in the USA, including the beautiful, extra-long feathers I’m proud to offer. We examine each feather individually, measure its length, and check its markings and quality. Those that meet our standards go into our premium hair-extension packs; others are sorted into our discounted or fly-tying selections.
Developing colors and putting packs together are still my favorite parts of the business. Whether you’re choosing feathers for yourself or selecting colors for your salon clients, I want you to find options you’re excited to work with and wear.
The people beside me

Although Feather My Head began with my own hands and an idea, it has grown through the work and support of others. My team includes my family, Nikki, and others whose dedication and creativity help us serve customers and salon professionals around the world.
My daughter inspired the idea that became Feather My Head, and both she and my son have helped with the business along the way. My husband has been there through the late nights and long hours, supporting my ideas, encouraging my creativity, and understanding the time I’ve poured into building this business. My family’s help, patience, and encouragement have meant so much to me.

And then there’s Nikki. She joined me about a year after Feather My Head began and is still working alongside me today. I often call her “the other part of my brain.” Her attention to detail brings so much to the care we put into our feathers and packs. After so many years together, she’s become an important part of both this business and my life, and I’m incredibly grateful to have her beside me.
Grown with our Featherhead community
From those early installations in my home to sending feathers around the world, our Featherhead community has helped this idea grow into something lasting.
Every order, recommendation, shared photo, and returning customer has played a part. Seeing how you wear your feathers—and how stylists bring them to life for their clients—is one of the joys of doing this work.
All these years after that first request from my daughter, I’m proud of how far we’ve come and grateful to still be doing something I love.
Whether you’ve been here for years or are just discovering Feather My Head, thank you for being part of our story.
