What makes FeatherMyHead hair feather extensions different?
We only sell premium, salon-grade feather extensions — long, flexible, and durable. Our feathers are ethically sourced from genetically bred roosters raised in the Western Slopes of the Rocky Mountains (USA). Unlike low-cost knockoffs, our feathers are full-length, versatile, and made to last.
Are these real feathers?
Yes! All of our feathers are 100% real, natural rooster feathers — not synthetic. Each one is hand-selected for softness, shape, and quality
Will the colors fade over time?
Our feathers are professionally hand-dyed using mineral-based dyes made specifically for natural feathers. Colors are vibrant and long-lasting. With proper care, they won’t fade or wash out like cheap alternatives
What happens if I swim in salt water or chlorine?
Just like your own hair, feathers may react slightly to pool or ocean water over time. Minimal fading is possible, but they generally hold up well.
Are your feathers ethically sourced?
Yes. We work only with trusted U.S. farms that raise roosters ethically and sustainably for premium saddle feathers.

Can I wash, curl, or heat-style hair feathers?
Absolutely. Our feathers are heat-safe up to 450°F and can be washed, curled, straightened, or blow-dried — just like your natural hair.
How long do feather extensions last?
With good care, our feathers can last up to 4 months in your hair. They’re also fully reusable — you can remove and reinstall them as your hair grows.
Can I dye my hair while wearing feathers?
Yes. Just wrap your feathers in foil to keep them protected while coloring the surrounding hair
Do feathers require special care?
Feathers are low maintenance but should be handled gently. Use care when brushing near the root or removing hair ties to avoid breakage.
Can feathers be trimmed shorter?
Yes, but we recommend trimming from the top or choosing a length that suits your hairstyle. We offer a wide range of lengths (typically 10–16+ inches).
Can I install them myself?
Installation is quick and easy with our DIY Feather Kit (sold separately), which includes:
- Silicone-lined micobeads available in blonde, black, or brown
- Loop Tool
- Instructions
Use our FeatherMyHead pink pliers (sold seperately) to clamp the bead in place and secure your feathers for a salon-quality look at home.
Can I sleep with hair feathers in?
Yes — they’re lightweight and comfortable. We recommend tying hair loosely or sleeping on a satin pillowcase to reduce friction.

What are your international shipping options?
We offer:
FedEx or UPS: Fastest, with tracking (3–4 days)
First-Class Ground: Slower (2–4 weeks), no tracking. Best for smaller orders.
Will I have to pay customs fees on international orders?
Customs duties, taxes, and import fees depend on your country. You’re responsible for these fees. We suggest checking with your local customs office for details.
